About adding the editing toolbars

Before editing geographic feature data within ArcMap, you must first add the Editor toolbar.

Explore the Editor toolbar

Many times, your project may call for specific editing tasks to be used more than others. Task options can be added to or removed from the Task dropdown menu on the Editor toolbar. This will simplify your editing interface and facilitate your selection process.

To use more advanced editing tools, you must add other editing toolbars to ArcMap. These include Topology, Annotation, Advanced Editing, Route Editing, Spatial Adjustment, Dimensioning, Versioning, and Geometric Network Editing.

NOTE: Some advanced editing tools are not available with ArcView.
