About adding an ArcSDE raster dataset
Use the ArcSDE Raster Datasets raster type to add georeferenced raster data stored in an ArcSDE geodatabase. If you have elevation data stored in ArcSDE, use the ArcGIS Elevation Raster Datasets raster type. You can add this data by making the ArcSDE database connection either first in ArcCatalog or via the Select Files dialog box.
You can add only one or a few raster datasets at a time. You can select more than one by using Ctrl or Shift when making the selection. Neither adding SDE raster catalogs nor pointing to the SDE database and adding all raster datasets within is supported.
