Find a location on the map with the Find tool in ArcReader

In ArcReader, it is easy to find a feature based on a name or value using the Find tool.

Click the Find tool. On the Places tab, type the place you want to find (in this example it is San Bernardino). Click the In layers drop-down menu and click , then click Find. ArcReader locates all the items contained in the map named San Bernardino and shows them as rows in the Results section of the window.

Once you’ve found a place, you can use the Find dialog box to navigate to or learn more about the feature.

In the Find dialog box, right-click San Bernardino Trailhead, and click Zoom to. ArcReader zooms to the trailhead for the San Bernardino Peak trail.

Make sure the Find dialog box does not cover the San Bernardino Peak Trailhead. In the Find dialog box, right-click San Bernardino Trailhead and click Flash. The trailhead will flash.

Right-click San Bernardino Trailhead and click Identify. The Identify dialog box, which contains all the attribute information for the San Bernardino Peak Trailhead, appears.
