An overview of the Network Analysis toolset

The Analysis toolset contains tools used to perform analysis when using the Network Analyst extension.

The following table lists the tools available in the Analysis toolset and provides a brief description of each.

Tool	Description
Add Field To Analysis Layer	Adds a field to a network analysis layer
Add Locations	Adds network locations to a network analysis layer
Calculate Locations	Calculates the network location fields for a point feature class
Directions	Generates directions information for a network analysis layer with routes
Make Closest Facility Layer	Makes a closest facility network analysis layer and sets its analysis properties
Make OD Cost Matrix Layer	Makes an origin-destination cost matrix network analysis layer and sets its analysis properties
Make Route Layer	Makes a route network analysis layer and sets its analysis properties
Make Vehicle Routing Problem Layer	Makes a vehicle routing problem network analysis layer and sets its analysis properties
Make Service Area Layer	Makes a service area network analysis layer and sets its analysis properties
Solve	Performs the analysis appropriate to the network analysis layer on which it is executed
Update Analysis Layer Attribute Parameter	Sets or updates the network attribute parameter value for a network analysis layer
