This minor variation to the traditional Two Standard Parallel projection version produces results needed by some Belgian coordinate systems.

Parameter Name

Description

PARM1

Latitude, in degrees, of the first standard parallel, usually the northernmost. There is no distinction between the northern and southern standard parallels; i.e., they can be switched with no effect.

PARM2

Latitude, in degrees, of the second standard parallel, usually the southernmost. This is sometimes the same as PARM1, used to obtain a conic with a single point of tangency.

ORG_LNG

The longitude, in degrees, of the origin of the projection.

ORG_LAT

The latitude, in degrees, of the origin of the projection.

MAP_SCL

Used only when defining a coordinate system that is to produce measurements on a scaled paper map. This value is the scale of the map, e.g., 100,000. Normally, this value is set to 1.0.

X_OFF

The false easting to be applied to all X coordinates, usually selected to cause all X coordinates within the coordinate system to be positive values of reasonable size.

Y_OFF

The false northing to be applied to all Y coordinates.
