Parameter Name

Description

PARM1

Longitude, in degrees, of the central meridian of the coordinate system (or map).

PARM2

Latitude, in degrees, of the standard parallel, usually zero, indicating the equator. Using a non-zero value has an affect similar to that of the scale reduction factor of other cylindrical projections.

MAP_SCL

Used only when defining a coordinate system that is to produce measurements on a scaled paper map. This value is the scale of the map, e.g., 100,000. Normally, this value is set to 1.0.

X_OFF

The false easting to be applied to all X coordinates, usually selected to cause all X coordinates within the coordinate system to be positive values of reasonable size.

Y_OFF

The false northing to be applied to all Y coordinates.
