If you start Workbench without using shortcuts with any pre-existing data or workspace files, following the steps in the wizard is the easiest way to create a new workspace file:
Select
the source format from the pull-down list.
See Choosing from the Formats List.
Locate your source data.
Specify Settings. If the Settings button is enabled (and this depends on the format you choose), you can specify more detailed information about the source data. Detailed information is available in each settings box.
Select your destination format, either from predefined formats in the pull-down list, or from the Formats Gallery.
Click Finish to create the workspace.
Once you have created the initial workspace and it is displayed in the graphical view, you can either save the file in its current form, or adjust the data flows by adding transformers or new attributes.
