You can use the Shared Features dialog box to investigate which features share a given selected topology edge or node. You can also use this dialog box to control whether or not edits that you make to a given topology element will affect individual features.

The names of both feature classes in the map topology, Hydro_region and Hydro_units, are listed with check marks in this dialog box. The checks mean that the selected topology element is shared by features in these feature classes.

When you expand the Hydro_region and Hydro_unit feature classes in the Shared Features dialog box, you can see which features in each feature class share this edge. You can control whether or not these features will be affected by edits to the shared edge by checking or unchecking the boxes for individual features. Unchecked features will not be modified by edits to the topology edge.
