You’ll now copy the features in the layer to a feature class using the Copy Features tool. This is a good way to preserve the changes you've made (joining data from a table, changing the names and visibility of fields) to the temporary in-memory layer. The new feature class will be stored in a geodatabase.
Once the new feature class has been created, you can delete the old vegtype feature class and rename the new one to vegtype.
