The Open Diagram by Diagram Type command is a quick way to open diagrams from a geodatabase. You'll see how to add this command to the Schematics toolbar, then use it to open a diagram.

Click Tools and click Customize. Click the Commands tab. Click Schematics in the Categories list. Click Open Diagram by Diagram Type in the related Commands list and drag it onto the Schematic toolbar. Click Close.

Click the Open Diagram By Diagram Type button you just added to the Schematic toolbar. The Open schematic diagram dialog box appears. Click the Diagram Type drop-down list and click GeoSchematic. Click Feeder 0803-Corinth Church in the Diagram Name drop-down list and click OK. The diagram appears in a new data frame.

Note: The Open Diagram By Diagram Type command allows you to choose a schematic diagram based on its diagram type from any specified schematic dataset without searching in the schematic folder where it can be stored. This is a useful alternative to the Open Schematic Diagrams command.
