After selecting layers and tasks, you'll set the supporting
details for the application such as title, links, and which map
elements to display.
Two panels of Manager assist you in configuring the look and
feel of your application.
The first panel presents a list of map elements that you can
enable and configure for the application. Available map elements
are:
- Table of Contents - Turned on by default. Select which layers
you want to include and whether users can turn layers on and off by
clicking on Settings.
- Overview Map - Turned on by default. Select which layers you
want to include in the overview map by clicking on Settings.
- North Arrow - Turned off by default. Select a north arrow you
would like to see on the map.
- Scalebar - Turned off by default. The scale bar is included on
the map when you check this option.
- Copyright Text - Add any text you would like, and the text is
included on the map.
The second panel allows you to set the page properties:
- Title text - This text is included as the title along the top
of the application and in the Web browser's title bar.
- Theme - You can choose from several themes that set the look
and feel of your application.
- Web page links - You can add one or more links to the page.
These links might be to other pages of your Web site or to external
Web sites. The links are included along the top of the
application.
You can access these panels either while creating a new Web
application or editing an existing application in Manager.
How to enable and configure the map elements
- Ensure that you are viewing the panel of Manager that enables
you to include and configure Map Elements, as explained above.
- Check or uncheck the boxes next to any map elements you would
like to enable or disable.
- If you want to further configure the settings for a map
element, click the Settings button. A panel of options will appear
for the element, which you can set to customize the way the element
looks and behaves.
How to set the page properties
- Ensure that you are on the panel of Manager that enables you to
specify Page Elements, as explained above.
- Enter the title text for your application.
- Select which theme you want to use.
- Add any links you want to include. First add the link text.
Next add the URL. When you are finished, click the plus sign. Add
any additional links. Each link is listed, and if you want to
remove a link, click the 'x' next to the link.
