In the Java Enterprise world, an enterprise application is
a complete, deployable unit of application
components, often consisting of Enterprise JavaBeans(tm)
(EJBs), JSP-based Web applications or Web services that
consume the EJB services , and any other application resources
that run in a standards-based J2EE application server.
ArcGIS Server Manager allows you to create
geospatial enterprise applications that showcase the geographic
information running on your server. With Manager, you
can create and deploy standard EJBs, which can
provide geospatial services such as mapping, querying,
routing, and geocoding. Manager's easy-to-use interface is intended
for people with little or no application development
experience. You don't need to know how to low-level
programming tasks for building EJBs and Web applications with
an IDE to create powerful mapping applications. Through Manager,
you build your EJB application and tailor it to the needs of
the people who will use it. Manger lets you choose the map,
locator, or network services you want your EJBs to use, and allows
you to determin if your EJBs will need to utilize the J2EE
Connector (Resource Adapter) that the ArcGIS Server product
provides to access ArcGIS services.
