expand/collapse item About the maximum output file size

When you allow users to extract data and send it to them in a zip file, the zip files have a potential to be very large depending on the number of layers and the size of each layer. To improve performance, you may want to consider limiting the size of a zip file. If a zip file exceeds the limit, it is not sent to the client. Instead, an error message is returned.

  1. In a text editing application, open aimsms.cfg file.

    Windows: <ArcGIS Installation Directory>\ArcIMS\Server\etc
    UNIX and Linux: $AIMSHOME/etc

  2. Locate the sizelimit attribute in the PARAMETERS section.
  3. Specify a numeric value in kilobytes for the maximum allowable size of a zip file. The default value is no limit.
  4. Repeat the above steps as needed to make the same changes on each machine in your site configuration with a Spatial Server.
  5. Restart ArcIMS Monitor and ArcIMS Application Server.
