Adding an ArcIMS Internet Server

  1. Tap the arrow below the Add Layer(s) button.

  2. Tap Add Data from Server.
  3. Type the URL of the ArcIMS Internet Server you would like to connect to.
  4. Tap the Refresh button.

    ArcPad lists the supported services that are available to you.
  5. Tap the service you would like to connect to.
  6. Tap OK.

    ArcPad creates a .gnd file (Geography Network Definition) which stores the reference to the ArcIMS host URL and the chosen map service.
  7. Navigate to the location you want to save the file in and tap Save.
  8. ArcPad will ask you whether or not you would like to add the service to your current project. Tap Yes to add it. If you tap No, you can add it later with the Add Layer(s) tool.
