Overview of locking the ArcPad application

ArcPad lets you lock the application so that no tools can be accidentally selected when your device is not in use or if you simply want to view a map in the field.

When locked, ArcPad cannot receive input from a mouse or pen; the keyboard, however, remains unlocked. The Lock tool applies to ArcPad only and does not lock the entire system. You can therefore access other applications on your device or computer.
