Getting Assistance with a Geoportal Extension Implementation

There is a variety of ways in which you can get assistance with your Geoportal Implementation.

  1. Online Resources

The Geoportal extension has an online presence in several places:
    • User Forum: In the Geoportal User forum you can read about others' work with the Geoportal. Help resolve issues and post your own questions. Access the Geoportal User forum online.
    • Support Pages: The Geoportal extension has its own set of support pages where you will find product documentation, system requirements, technical knowledge base articles, white papers and links to patches, service packs and other fixes.
    • JavaDoc: The Geoportal has JavaDoc available for further customizations and source code.
    • General Geoportal extension information is available on the ESRI Geoportal extension website. Here you can find a product overview, list of key features, literature, system requirements, an FAQ, case studies and What's New. You can also find out information about how to obtain the Geoportal extension, training and support. Finally, the esri.com website has links to downloadable components of the Geoportal extension such as the ArcGIS Desktop CSW Clients.
  2. Technical Support

If you encounter issues with your Geoportal extension deployment, you can contact ESRI's technical support. For users within the United States, you may call the ESRI toll free technical support number at 1-888-377-4575 or submit a technical support incident online at http://support.esri.com. International users, please use your regular technical support channels offered by your international distributor.
  3. 20-Hour Remote Developer Support Package

This package allows access to developers on the ESRI SDI Solutions team for twenty hours via phone, webcast, and email. It is particularly recommended for customizations or configuration issues not described in the webhelp documentation or are outside the bounds of standard ESRI support.
  4. Instructor-led Training Course

Register for a Geoportal extension training course at the ESRI Training Website. Classes are held in Redlands and ESRI regional offices several times a year. The ESRI SDI Solutions team also conducts onsite training at a customer facility. Onsite training is especially recommended if your organization has many people who want to take a geoportal course but cannot travel to ESRI training facilities, or if your organization would like to pair a training class with an onsite implementation of the Geoportal extension. If you are interested in Onsite training, please contact the SDI Solutions Team at portal@esri.com.
  5. Professional Services

For other assistance that falls outside the scope of general technical support such as new functionality customization, or assistance with running the Geoportal extension in a non-supported environment, please contact us at portal@esri.com to discuss how ESRI Professional Services may assist you.
