You can use the Note Properties dialog to set or change two properties of the note.

Set these properties
Default View
Every note can have a view associated with it. A view is defined by two elements, the location and height of an observer and the location and height of a target. As you navigate over the map, you implicitly adjust the view. You can set or clear the view associated with a note in the upper portion of the Note Properties dialog by clicking the respective buttons.

If you've established a note's view, when you double-click the note in the Contents window or right-click the note and select Go To the map will move to display the default view.

The default view will be a target location and an observer location if you create or capture it in 3D display mode. If you capture the default view in 2D display mode, then it consists of an extent and a rotation value.

Note Location
You can view the coordinates of a point note's position in the Note Location section of the properties dialog. In addition, you can choose to attach the note to the surface of the earth or specify an absolute height in the current distance units.

The note's location is independent of the view. While improbable, it is possible to position the note outside the extent of the view.
