Publish a map for a bookmarked location

ArcGIS Publisher

Segment 7 of 8

Top  Previous  Next

You can publish a map for a specific area within an existing map.

You may want to share your published map with someone who does not have access to your data. Creating a data package for your published map allows you to easily distribute the map and data. You can limit the amount of data that you distribute by zooming in to the area needed by the the person to whom you'll give the map and data, and then only including the data that intersects the data frame when you package the data.

In this segment you'll see the first part of the process, zooming to a bookmarked area (or any area that you want to share) and creating a published map for the specific area.

To do so, zoom to the area that you want to share (in this case it has been bookmarked, to make it easy to find), then publish the map.

When someone opens the published map they will see this area.

In the next segment you'll see the second part of this process, creating the data package and limiting the packaged data to a specific area.
