The ArcGIS Explorer Options dialog's Advanced panel options represent the set of options that are less frequently or rarely used options that you can set to manage proxy server authentication, cache management, and symbols.
To display the Advanced panel, click the ArcGIS Explorer Button , then click the ArcGIS Explorer Options button and then click Advanced.

Proxy Server
A proxy server is a computer on your LAN that connects to the Internet without compromising the security of your internal network. If your organization uses a proxy server to connect to the Internet, you need to configure ArcGIS Explorer so that it can connect to GIS servers on the Internet through the proxy server. When configuring a proxy server, all Internet connections to GIS servers (both ArcGIS and ArcIMS servers) will utilize this proxy server.

Cache Management
Use the Cache Management section to set and maintain the two types of caching used by ArcGIS Explorer: memory caching and disk caching. Click Browse... to set a different folder to store disk cache. Refresh Statistics provides an updated calculation of the size of your caches. In order to free up disk space, you can click Delete Unused Caches or Delete All Caches. While this provides disk space and caches are recreated when required, you sacrifice performance. To manage memory caching click Memory Cache Options....

Symbols
If you want to remove any symbols you added to the Symbol Gallery, click Reset Defaults. Doing so will remove any custom symbols you added and leave you with the original installation default set of symbols.
