Aimssdeio.cfg specifies default Spatial Server settings for ArcSDE workspaces and is located at:
Windows: <ArcGIS Installation Directory>\ArcIMS\Server\etc
UNIX and Linux: $AIMSHOME/etc
The following settings can be changed:
Maximum number of seconds for an ArcSDE connection to be made when an ArcIMS service is starting or when an ArcSDE connection must be restored after a service is already running. Default value is 15 seconds. For more information see Setting timeouts.
Two modes are available when counting ArcSDE features. When client mode is used, all features are counted by the ArcIMS Spatial Server, which in this case is a client to ArcSDE. When server mode is used, all features are counted using a log file in ArcSDE. The default is client mode and is the recommended configuration. For more information see Setting connection parameters for ArcSDE.
The connectioncheckinterval defines the time interval between attempts to reconnect to ArcSDE when an ArcSDE server is unavailable. The default value is 300 seconds. For more information, see Setting timeouts.
Determines whether an ArcSDE catalog is preloaded into memory when the service is started. Default value is True. For more information see Setting connection parameters for ArcSDE.
After making any changes to this file, you must restart ArcIMS Monitor and ArcIMS Application Server.
