Configure Project for Geoprocessing

By choosing to run the 'Configure Project for Geoprocessing tool',you will be creating a configuration file for use with the ArcPad geoprocessing tool ‘ Process ArcPad Project’. It allows you to automate the checking out process or include it in a model.

When you select 'Configure Project for Geoprocessing tool' , the 'Welcome screen' appears.

Click 'Next' and the following screen appears.

The process in this section is similar to 'Get Data for ArcPad'. Follow the same procedure as described in Get Data for ArcPad section.

Some data types are not supported by the ArcPad Data Manager. Please refer to Preparing your data for ArcPad for more information

The only difference when you run this tool is on the 'Select Deployment Options' page, where you do not have the option to create data locally on the computer. If you are using a model to prepare data for a Windows Mobile device, then you should check “create ready to deploy .CAB file” option. Otherwise, you may check the 'create .ZIP file containing the ArcPad data' option. See the screenshot below:

This process creates an APO file, but no data

When you hit finish the following screen pops-up:

All the options which you have selected using this tool are now saved and can be used later on.
