You can set options that apply to the application and are retained from session to session.

To display the ArcGIS Explorer Options dialog, click the ArcGIS Explorer Button , then click the ArcGIS Explorer Options button:

Common
The Common options represent the set of options that are common user preferences. These are not necessarily the most important options for ArcGIS Explorer, but they do represent those options for which each individual tends to have their own favorite.

Map Window
The Map Window options define the behavior of the orientation indicator, the Navigator, and whether to show position information and whether to display an indicator that shows the target position.

3D Display Effects
The 3D Display Effects options provide a means to control sun lighting and fog effects.

Layers
The Layers options control whether the Swipe and Transparency controls work on the selected layer or on the selected layer and all layers above it.

Flight Characteristics
The Flight Characteristicsoptions represent the set of options that you can use to control the flight behavior of the application when flying point-to-point or following a route. In addition, you can control whether to avoid the terrain when panning and flying.

Navigation
The Navigation options allow you to control the speed with which you navigate over the map using the mouse, the keyboard, or the Navigator control. In addition, these options set the behavior of the mouse in the application.
