When you select File > New, you will see the FME Workbench welcome dialog. From here, you will have three options to create a new workspace (or you can open an existing workspace):
Create a blank workspace: Opens a blank workspace file. You can build a workspace and then save it to a file later.
Use the workspace wizard Lets you quickly define source and destination formats and generate an initial workspace.
Open the workspace dialog Opens a traditional dialog, from which you can set up your initial workspace. This dialog also appears when you drag a file onto the Workbench icon or click the New Workspace button .
Open an existing workspace: Open a workspace from the displayed list, or browse to another directory.
Tip: If you don't want the Workbench Welcome dialog to appear each time you start Workbench, you can check the "Don't show this dialog at startup" box, or disable it from the Tools > Options > Appearance menu. Uncheck the Show Workbench welcome dialog on startup checkbox. |
